3.0 Eville & Jones Corporate Summary
|
|
Eville & Jones has been a
national provider of specialist veterinary meat hygiene
services since 1993. Since the inception of the MHS in 1995
Eville & Jones have worked in close partnership to ensure
that all the MHS annual targets are met on a consistent
basis.
Eville
& Jones currently employ some 187 full time veterinary
surgeons, all of whom are specialised in veterinary public
health and meat hygiene and work almost solely with the
MHS. Eville & Jones have developed strict internal
administrative procedures registered under ISO 9002 - the
first MHS contractor to have achieved this approved
standard. From the head office in Leeds, Eville & Jones
co-ordinate our activities across the country and ensure
that all administrative, technical, and operational targets
are met in a timely fashion.
Over the last 9 years
working with the MHS has proven to be both challenging and
rewarding. Since early April 1995 Eville & Jones have
worked integrally with the MHS, assisting in the launch and
development of the new service and the nationally consistent
implementation of the Operations Manual.
In March 1996 Eville & Jones
rose to the challenge of providing significant numbers of
new veterinary staff to help the MHS meet the then new SBO
regulatory controls, ensuring that all requirements were
consistently met. Following the E.coli crisis in
Scotland, and the subsequent Pennington Report, Eville &
Jones worked with the MHS ensuring that the Clean Livestock
Policy was successfully applied, becoming an extremely
effective control measure.
During the period 1997 –
2000 the challenges were many and varied and frequently
Eville & Jones was able to assist with ensuring that
performance and service targets were met on an on-going
basis. The move towards 100% veterinary attendance from 1
April 2001 was inevitably significantly complicated by FMD;
however, Eville & Jones moved all their resources and
support behind the MHS to ensure that from 1 April 2001 the
MHS met all of its service targets and objectives. The FMD
outbreak created what could probably be described as the
ultimate challenge, but clearly demonstrates the ability of
Eville & Jones to react quickly, effectively and
professionally in times of crisis.
Eville &
Jones track record of service delivery over the last seven
years is without comparison. Having been the only national
provider of veterinary services for the MHS they have gained
the experience and competence to deliver these services
consistently to meet all their customer’s requirements. A
further achievement was becoming the only contractor to the
MHS that is both ISO 9002 approved and Investors in People
registered, and working towards EN 45004 accreditation and
the Business Excellence model.
Eville & Jones commitment to
the MHS has been and will continue to be, clearly
demonstrated as our organisation continues to seek
excellence in all areas of activity. |
