Food
Safety Division
The
Food Safety division of IVEC was founded in response to the
growing needs of the food industry to ensure that proper and
adequate controls are in place to achieve Food Safety through
quality assurance.
The
operations of this division are based on the controls and
practices set out in the internationally recognised “general
principles of food hygiene” recommended to governments,
industry, processors, food service operators and consumers
alike.
IVEC
can assist in all areas of the food industry, from the smallest
family butcher shops and family abattoirs to
the largest international food manufacturers and producers.
We have in place the structure and expertise to be able
to offer assistance at all levels in establishing and running
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), food safety and
management systems that are tailored to the individual client
needs and requirements.
IVEC
can advise and help individual food premises on the
implementation of the most practical and cost effective methods
of complying with current legislation. We will analyse and
monitor food premises with the implementation of HACCP and
quality assurance. This level of analysis, monitoring and
documentation will vary according to the risks, size and nature
of the business.
Services
IVEC
offers a range of services depending upon individual business
needs.
Initial
inspections and advice – At
a client’s request IVEC
will inspect premises and report on the findings.
The outcome of this visit may be the implementation of a
full food safety programme.
Food
safety programmes
– IVEC develops food safety management systems for clients
which concentrate on prevention strategies of known hazards and
the risks of them occurring at specific points in the food
chain.
HACCP
training and implementation - If the client needs a food
safety programme, IVEC will develop and implement a HACCP
programme for them. This HACCP system will be capable of
accommodating change, such as advances in equipment design,
processing procedures and technical developments.
Auditing
– IVEC will carry out periodic audits using IVEC’s trained
auditors. These audits will be undertaken against agreed
standards and non-compliances will be fully discussed.
